The Allman Brothers Band took a breather from its extended tour with Widespread Panic to play a few shows in Colorado. One of those gigs was a headlining appearance at Morrison, CO’s famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre this past Saturday. Railroad Earth opened the show, bringing things to a close, appropriately enough, with “Colorado.” In addition, Railroad Earth fiddler Tim Carbone sat in with the Allman Brothers for a cover of Robert Johnson’s “Come On In My Kitchen.” Derek Trucks’ wife, blues singer Susan Tedeschi, was also at the show and joined the Allman Brothers for “Anyday” and “Lost Lover Blues.” The Allman Brothers Band’s tour with Widespread Panic will resume with a two-night run at Charlotte, NC’s Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre on October 3 and 4.
