Last night, The Slip/Nathan Moore project Surprise Me Mr. Davis headlined the Bell House, a new venue located in the Gowanus area of Brooklyn, NY. As previously reported, longtime Surprise Me Mr. Davis associate Marco Benevento has been on the road with the group this summer, playing piano and other keyboard toys. Rhode Island’s The Low Anthem opened the night and the entire band later joined Surprise Me Mr. Davis for a six-song mini-set: “Yellowed by the Sun,” “Cigarettes and Whiskey,” “Sally,” “I Hate Love,” “Home Away from Home” and “As the Crow Flies.” The members of The Low Anthem also paid tribute to The Slip during their set, mentioning how they used to see the band in college and that The Slip headlined their first proper tour.

Surprise Me Mr. Davis will appear at Fall River, MA’s Narrows Center for the Arts this evening.
