The Derek Trucks Band is in Texas this weekend, rounding out the group’s current current tour before the group’s namesake heads up to New York City and the Allman Brothers Band March run at the Beacon Theatre. On Wednesday at La Zona Rosa in Austin, Texas, the DTB was joined by Derek & The Dominos’ keyboardist Bobby Whitlock. He appeared for Anyday, a song he co-wrote with Eric Clapton, which appears on the classic Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs. Whitlock played organ and traded verses with DTB vocalist Mark Mattison. If rumors hold true, Trucks may very well revisit the tune with guest Eric Clapton at the Beacon. Meanwhile, The Derek Trucks Band will perform tonight in Dallas at the Granada Theater.
