Following last Thursdays spontaneous Phil Lesh/Ryan Adams performance at Denvers Dulcineas, the pair took the stage on Friday and Saturday as one third of the Lesh’s Phil & Friends band. Joining the two at Denvers Fillmore (Friday) and Red Rocks (Saturday) were Jimmy Herring, Jeff Sipe, Rob Barraco and Barry Sless. These two performances saw the group focus on Jerry Garcia material with Adams on vocals for runs through such songs as :‘Shakedown Street,’ ‘Wharf Rat,’ ‘Must Have Bene The Roses,’ and Bertha. In addition, the sextet also performed a few of Adams’ own selections over the two nights including Let It Ride, Rosebud, Easy Plateau and Magnolia Mountain, all of which appear on his latest disc, Cold Roses.
