At present nearly half of the necessary $100,000 has been pledged to save New York City music venue Tonic. As weve been reporting this sum is needed to cover, among other matters, a rent increase, building maintenance costs and rising insurance premiums. A number of supportive musicians have signed on for benefits throughout the month of March with MMW performing tonight and tomorrow (two sets each night with a separate ticket required for each), the Charlie Hunter Trio on the 15th, and Yo La Tengo on Mar 29, among many others.
