John Popper and Oteil Burbridge jammed with Govt Mule Saturday at Pensacola Springfest in Pensacola, FL. Popper added harmonica to 32-20 Blues and Burbridge joined in on bass for Sco-Mule. Popper and Burbridge are longtime friends of the band and have collaborated on several occasions (both on stage and in the studio). Burbridge is also a band mate of Warren Haynes in the Allman Brothers Band.
Greg Rzab played bass for the Mule during the set, as the group has not yet announced a permanent bassist (at a recent screening for the Rising Low film, Haynes alluded that there may be an announcement at Bonnaroo NE).
Bassist George Porter Jr. joins the band this Friday for Relix Magazines 30th Anniversary concert at Rumsey Playfield in New Yorks Central Park. For details, visit www.relix.com/30. The bands summer schedule is available at www.mule.net.
