Phish has announced three official listening parties for the release of Volumes 13 – 16 in the Live Phish series, due out October 29. The events will take place October 27 at Park West in Chicago, IL, October 28 at The Paradise in Boston, MA and October 29 at Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, CA. The listening parties will be emceed by Phish archivist Kevin Shapiro, who will be spinning tracks from the new releases as well as some rare nuggets from the archive. Portions of the bands upcoming concert DVD, Phish: Live in Vegas will also be shown. The DVD is due in stores on November 12. Those in attendance will be eligible to win door prizes, including a pair of tickets to Phishs New Years Eve show at Madison Square Garden.
Proceeds from the Chicago and Boston parties will benefit the Waterwheel Foundation, a non-profit organization that oversees Phishs charitable activities. The San Francisco event will benefit the Mockingbird Foundation, which raises money to support music education for children.
