Jazz Mandolin Project has announced the release of a new album titled After Dinner Jams. The CD was recorded at Trey Anastasios Vermont barn last January. The entire disc is comprised of improvisation that took place each night after the band had endured a day of focused studio recording. After dinner, the musicians would gather for an informal jam session while the tapes rolled. Eventually, the band realized that this music was too good to go unheard and decided to compile portions of the sessions for release. The album includes Jamie Masefield (acoustic and electric mandolins, whistles), Danton Boller (acoustic and electric bass), Ari Hoenig (drums, piano), Gil Goldstein (piano), Chris Lovejoy (percussion), and Jon Fishman (piano). It is only available at live shows and through the bands website, www.jazzmandolinproject.com.
