What will you remember most about 2016?
Getting married and my wife telling me that she’s pregnant with our first child.
Which album or albums have you listened to most this past year?
Beck Midnight Vultures, The Beatles Sgt. Pepper and Ernest Ranglin Below The Bassline are a few that I can think of that were on repeat. Also, this random record that I found in the library called Drums of Passion. The sexy, sexy title drew me in.
What was your favorite show of 2016 (one that you saw and/or your own)?
I didn’t see a lot of shows this year so I’ll have to go with the last gig we played. It was at the Casbah here in San Diego. It was the first show with our full horn section and it was fire. Shows like that keep me going.
What emerging artists should we watch out for in 2017?
Madaila. Like Herding Cats. Ghosts of Jupiter…and of course, EV!
Any big plans in the works for 2017?
Starting work on our 2nd album at the end of February. Meeting my firstborn in April (kind of a big deal). Getting back on the road this summer. Putting out our 2nd record sometime in the fall/early winter. Trying to savor it all.
