How did the Phish Halloween Remix video come about?

We heard about the 99 Albums thing, which was a sick idea. Our manager Justin is a massive fan of Phish and has to been over a hundred shows. We are from England so we haven’t heard much from Phish before we moved here, but we have been checking them out a lot over the past two years. Justin got in touch with their manager and was like, “How about this idea where the Eclectic Method tried 99 videos?“” And the guys from Phish were like, “Have a go. We will see if we like it.“” So we had a go, and they really liked it and ended up using the video. With that video, we really tried to make it seem like a jamband made out of many of the world’s greatest bands. Our approach to it was less dance-ey remix and more composing audio with many different bands.

Do you guys have any big plans in the works you can talk about to end 2009?

Loads! At the moment we are working on a California mixtape. We are working on a show called Money,” which is all about money, the economy, and banking. We are literally taking every hip-hop video, documentary, movie where money is referenced, and we hope to build a new narrative out of many different things. We will try to talk to you through video, but 15 or so clips will spell out a few sentences. Those are out major plans for the next two months. There are always remixes, such as the “Phish Remix,” that we aren’t allowed to talk about. We are working for different bands and movie companies. We weren’t allowed to tell anyone that we were working for Phish until a minute they went onto stage. There will be more things like that until the end of the year.
