In March 2019, Blondie will host their first Cuban destination concert event, dubbed Blondie in Havana. Billed as a “cultural exchange,” the four-day gathering will feature two headlining performances from Blondie, plus shows from Cuban musicians, visits to museums and cultural locations, and more.
“We’ve never been to Cuba, though we’ve always hoped to get there someday,” founding band member Chris Stein says in a press release. “We’ve been talking about it for ages and now it’s finally happening. Havana is such an incredible scene, such an incredible city. I’ve always been fascinated by their music and their wildly creative culture.”
Blondie in Havana is set for March 14–18, with the band performing two shows at Havana’s Teatro Mella. Also included in the lineup are Cuban acts Alain Perez, David Torrens and Sintesis. Ticket registration for the event begins this Friday, September 28, at 9am ET. All information can be found here.
