Berkfest Rescheduled
The promoters of the Berkshire Mountain Music Festival have announced that the event has been reshceduled and will now take place August 10 – 12 at Butternut Basin Ski Area in Great Barrington, MA. The festival was originally scheduled to be held August 3 – 5. Because of the scheduling change, at this time Bela Fleck & the Flecktones and Keb' Mo' are not on the bill. The line-up features Strangefolk, The Steve Kimock Band, Sound Tribe Sector 9, Yonder Mountain String Band and Olu Dara. More bands will be announced soon.

Widespread Panic Fans Plan Food Drives
Panic Fans For Food, a non-profit volunteer organization run by Widespread Panic fans, will hold a pre-show food drive Friday April 27 at the Von Braun Civic Center in Huntsville, AL. Fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable canned foods for donation. “Panic Fans for Food is about giving back to the towns and cities where Widespread plays,” says Joshua Stack, co-founder of the organization. “It's a way for us to say thanks to the communities for hosting the fans.”
The organization will also hold a drive at City Brew before tonight’s WSP show at Chilhowee Park in Knoxville, TN. City Brew is located at 424 South Gay Street in Knoxville. Fans that donate up to five cans of food will receive a wristband allowing them to ride to and from the show via a Knoxville Area Transit bus. Mike Gordon to Perform with Scott Murawski & Friends Tonight
Phish bassist Mike Gordon (a.k.a “Agent Malone”) will perform with Max Creek guitarist Scott Murawski & Friends tonight at The Living Room in Providence, RI. The line-up also includes guitarist Jeff Pevar (Phil & Friends, CPR, Jazz is Dead) and drummer Greg DeGuglielmo (Max Creek, The Drop Caps). Tonight’s show is a CD release party for Murawski’s solo album, Stormfield. Other special guests are expected.

Special Guests to Join Robert Walter’s 20th Congress This Weekend
Robert Walter’s 20th Congress will welcome special guests to the stage during its two-night stand at Wetlands Preserve in New York City this weekend. Tonight guitarist Melvin Sparks will perform with the band and tomorrow night 8-string guitarist Charlie Hunter and drummer Mike Clark will sit in. Former Deep Banana Blackout singer Jen Durkin-Kalb and the Conscious Underground as well as The Living Daylights will open this evening’s show. Tomorrow’s bill features support acts Robert Randolph and Miracle Orchestra. Tickets will available at the door.

Soulive, John Brown’s Body Receive Boston Music Awards
Soulive received a Boston Music Award for Outstanding Jam Band last night at the Orpheum Theatre in Boston, MA. It is the first time in the event’s fourteen-year history that a category has been devoted to the genre. Other bands nominated included Addison Groove Project, Jiggle, Miracle Orchestra, The Slip and Uncle Sammy.
Soulive was not in attendance to receive its award as the trio performed at Irving Plaza in New York City. The show featured guest appearances from Sam Kininger, Stephanie McKay, Jacques Schwarzbar and Talib Kweli. The group returns to Irving tonight. For the complete schedule, visit www.soulive.com.

Complete Trey Anastasio Summer Tour Itinerary Announced; Line-up Expanded to Eight
The complete Trey Anastasio summer tour schedule has just been released. Anastasio’s backing band will consist of Tony Markellis (bass), Russ Lawton (drums) Dave Grippo (saxophone), Jennifer Hartswick (trumpet) and Andy Moroz (trombone), as well as newcomers Russell Remington (saxophone) formerly of the Giant Country Horns and Ray Paczkowski (keyboards) formerly of Viperhouse. The group is expected to debut several new songs this summer. "I've been writing a lot of horn charts," says Anastasio. "There's definitely going to be new material and there are songs that I wrote years ago that I think would be great for a band with horns."

Members of Ween will perform with Amfibian guitarist Chris Harford tonight at the Stanhope House in Stanhope, NJ and April 25 at Wetlands Preserve in New York City. The Slip to Play Benefit Concert for Groove Against Hunger
The Slip’s April 25 performance at Avalon Ballroom in Boston, MA will be the first in a series of benefit concerts to raise funds for Groove Against Hunger. The band has agreed to donate twenty percent of its earnings from the night to Action Against Hunger, an organization founded in 1979 which now has over 4000 workers in over 40 countries working to save lives and restore food to victims of starvation. “What we hope to do, need to do, is take advantage of this growing jam and groove-based phenomenon in live music and give something back," says program organizer Peter Costello. “We do not like knowing people are hungry,” The Slip said in a statement. “Given all our good fortune in life, we can bring awareness and occasionally help out. Brothers Past to Record Live Album
Brothers Past has announced that it will record a live album May 5 at Indre Studios in Philadelphia, PA. It will be the band’s first appearance in Philadelphia since April of 1999. Widespread Panic Unveils Summer Tour Itinerary
Widespread Panic has just released its summer tour dates. The tour kicks off June 15 – 17 at The Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles, CA and will include multiple night runs at Red Rocks in Morrison, CA (June 22 – 24), The Beacon Theater in New York City (July 17 – 19) and the Oak Mountain Amphitheatre in Pelham, AL (July 27 – 29). The band will also make stops in New Mexico, Colorado, Texas, Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Kansas, Missouri, Indiana, Ohio, Massachusetts, Maryland, Pittsburgh, New York, Virginia, Delaware and South Carolina. The Las Vegas Jamband Society has announced that Jambands.com columnist Lee Abraham will emcee the Area 51 Sound Test Festival. The event will take place April 20 – 22 in Indian Springs, Nevada and will feature performances by The Ominous Seapods, Juggling Suns, Wise Monkey Orchestra, Government Grown, the Waz and Psydecar among others. “It’s truly an honor to serve as the emcee for the Sound Test," says Abraham. "I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing and writing about most of the bands on the bill, and after living in Las Vegas for a decade, I know how hard the people at the Jamband Society have been working to make this thing happen... The Disco Biscuits Perform Stealth Show at Wetlands
The Disco Biscuits performed a one-set show at Wetlands last night in New York City, under the name “The Perfume.” Brothers Past members Tom Hamilton (guitar) and Tom McKee (keyboards) as well as Fat Mama drummer Joe Russo sat in for “Plan B.” Jambands.com staffer Carol Wade then sung “Little Lai” with the band.
Electron, which is Disco Biscuits’ bass player Marc Brownstein’s side project, opened the show. The line-up featured Brownstein (bass), Russo (drums), The Disco Biscuits’ Aron Magner (keyboards), Brothers Past’s Tom Hamilton (guitar), Paulie (percussion) and DJ Stitch (turntables). Special guests included Disco Biscuits members Jon Gutwillig (guitar) and Sam Altman (drums), McKee (keyboards) and Jordan Crisman (bass).
