Neil Young’s annual Bridge School Benefit show came to a close last night at Shoreline Amphitheater with performances from the likes of Young, Gary Clark Jr., Ryan Adams, Sheryl Crow, St. Vincent, Dixie Chicks and Ben Harper.
Among the highlights included Adams closing his set with an appropriate cover of the Grateful Dead’s “Wharf Rat,” a tune that he hasn’t played on stage since 2006. The song was a popular cover during his time with the Cardinals and also spilled over into his solo repertoire during that time as well.
Sheryl Crow brought out some guests during her set as well, including inviting the Dixie Chicks out for “Strong Enough” and collaborating with St. Vincent on “Riverwide.”
